Whether you have an old-school board that you have ridden in the past or just like the look of boards hanging up this article will show you how to get them up there with ease!

There are a lot of products out there but we provide some of the best ones!

Let’s get into it!

How To Hang Up A Skateboard On The Wall?

Here are some of our top choices to hang up a skateboard on the wall. If you still want to ride your board then it’s probably best to check out our section below that discusses how to hang them up when the wheels are still on!

Let’s get into it!

Alumy Skateboard Deck Display Wall Mount

This deck display by Alumy is great because it can go right into the stud of your wall and get your boards up quickly for display.

It attaches by screwing into a stud on your wall or another sturdy wall location and then screws through the bolt locations on your deck. That means that the wheels cannot be attached at least on the top of the board.

Here is what we love about this product:

  • Can hold up to 15 lbs. (A deck only weighs about 2 to 3 lbs so you are in the clear!)
  • Installation takes 5 minutes! So anyone with basic knowledge and tools can do this.
  • You have the option to buy a 6-pack or a 1-pack.
  • If you want to hang the board sideways you will need to make sure you have two of them so you can hang it in each of the bolt locations at the top and bottom of the skateboard.

This style of mount allows for your decks to be displayed in a clean way on any wall you can drill into.

Here are some negatives about this hanger:

  • Wheels cannot be attached to the wall mount. So if you want wheels to see the section below.

Hikeen Skateboard Wall Mount

Very similar style to the mount above but has great ratings and even more reviews. Again this one attaches to your deck mounts at the top and lets the board hang down. So no wheels can be attached to this one.

Here is what we love about this product:

  • Blacked-out wall hanger
  • Options to get a 1-pack, 2-pack or 4 pack

Here are some negatives about this hanger:

  • Wheels cannot be attached to this wall mount
  • Make sure you attached this one directly to a stud because there is only one screw supporting it.
  • More expensive than the Alumy above.
Hikeen 2 Packs Skateboard Wall Mount Skateboard Hanger for Skateboard Deck Display and Storage
Pros:
  • Blacked out wall hanger
  • Options to buy a 1 pack, 2 pack or 4 pack!
Cons:
  • Ensure to attached to stud
  • More expensive than the Alumy

How To Hang A Skateboard With Wheels On The Wall?

The best way to hang up a skateboard on the wall with wheels is to utilize a product that is made for that and there are some options available online.

Here are our top choices:

S Strailboard Skateboard Wall Hanger

We love this skateboard wall hanger cause it allows to put up your board on the wall for display but its super simple to take off and hit the pavement.

Here is what we love about this product:

  • It not only fits skateboards but can be used for longboards, skis, snowboards, guitars, and more! But for us here at man cave expert, we recommend skateboards only because that is exactly what they are designed to do. There are other products for those other items.
  • It says it can be mounted on drywall but we recommend being careful with that and using a stud if possible. If you want to use the drywall be sure that you don’t put any extra pressure down on the mount. It will hold it but other people and kids are your enemy because they could be rough on it!
  • Comes with a two so you can get multiple boards up!
  • It can hold up to 30 lbs so you are free and clear with your board or even a  longboard! The weakest point might be the drywall!
  • Some people have hung their boards horizontally with this one two but you have to use two of the hooks so if you plan on hanging many boards then it will be more expensive. Check out the photos at the Amazon link below from recent buyers for a picture of hanging it horizontally.

Here are some negatives about this hanger:

  • You only get two hangers for your skateboards

YYST Skateboard Wall Mount

This is another simple hanger and it’s great because you get 4 racks for a pretty good price. What we really love about this hanger is that the metal hooks are pliable which means you can expand and move the arms around to fit your specific board.

Here are some more things we love about this mount:

  • You get 4 skateboard wall mounts for a great price! Click the link below to check for the most updated Amazon price.
  • If you want to hang them horizontally all you have to do is spread out the arms a bit. Check the link below and check out some of the previous buyer’s photos! This time you only need one mount instead of two because the arms can stretch.

Here are some cons:

  • 10 lb max but your skateboard isn’t going to weigh more than that unless you have an eboard or a really big longboard.
  • If the hangers are pliable that means that they can eventually snap. So don’t stretch and play with the arms too much.

With many of these systems understand that if you don’t have a bottom support or something sticking out that you are going to mark up your walls with wheel marks or holes especially if you ride every day. Probably not a problem for most but just be careful when you are putting your board on and taking it off.

Please note that there are a lot of articles out there saying that you can use command strips to hang the skateboard but there are some reasons why this cannot be done.

  1. If you are hanging the skateboard on the wall with wheels then you most likely facing it wheels out. That means there is no flat surface to make contact with the skateboard because the top of the deck is not flat!
  2. If you are hanging the skateboard with wheels in then that doesn’t make any sense and the same reasoning applies as above.

Even some say that you can use command hooks and I believe that you could but you will need to rig up some rope system or something to hold the skateboard by the wheels. And that means the wheels are turned in so you cannot see all the cool artwork below. That is fine if you haven’t used your board and taped up the top.

Another warning is try to understand where your electrical or water/sewer lines could be. This can be difficult to understand but there are some key indications that a water line or electrical line could be in that same space. Look for the electrical outlets below where you are going to hang the board and check the other side of the wall if you can to see if there are any things that use water that could have a pipe going to it.

How To Hang A Skateboard On The Wall Horizontally?

Storeourboard Minimalist Display Mount

This is our top choice for hanging up your skateboard on the wall horizontally. It’s great because you can leave your wheels on and it is an easy grab and go if you still ride that board. It also looks cool and can act as a hanger for your other gear or jackets.

Here are some more things we love about this mount:

  • Two brackets that store your board horizontally. Two screws and two drywall anchors on each bracket to safely connect to the wall.
  • Can be used for other types of boards as well!
  • Felt padding on the bracket to protect the board if its only for show!
  • They don’t give the capacity of the system but one of the reviews mentioned that it held an e board that was up to 20 lbs!

Here are some cons:

  • Not as clean or hidden of a design as some of the other options above. This is more for the skateboard that will be used daily.
